Cancer Jam 2016 is nearly here, and your chance to attend has officially arrived with tickets now on-sale! Our third annual benefit show is shaping up to be the most exciting to-date, bringing an ever-growing list of Dallas-Fort Worth artists to the fight against cancer.

We are excited to announce this year's lineup, anchored by two extremely talented backing bands; Beau Bedford's wildly-successful, The Texas Gentlemen (Kris Kristofferson, Leon Bridges, Paul Cauthen), and — coming off the success of Disney's Pete's Dragon — Hand Drawn artist, Andrew Tinker. Andrew will be returning to the Cancer Jam stage for his third-straight year, this time, unveiling a new retro-soul trio.

Featured throughout the event with The Texas Gentlemen and Andrew Tinker's trio will be some of the area's most beloved performers; Eric Pulido (Midlake, Banquet), Brent Best (Slobberbone, The Drams), Matt Hillyer (Eleven Hundred Springs), Paco Estrada (South FM), Kirk Thurmond and Larry (G)ee. More to be announced!

LIVE & LOCAL: VIP STAGE

With the successes of the last two years, Cancer Jam 2016 has not only expanded to a larger venue (Annette Strauss Square at 2000 attendance capacity), but also added a second stage, featuring Austin's Brandon Callies & the American Revival and Fort Worth's Cut Throat Finches and Un Chien.

 CANCER JAM: PRESS RELEASE:

DALLAS, TEXAS - October 6, 2016 – Cancer Jam announced today that two talented backing bands, The Texas Gentleman and The Andrew Tinker Trio, will be backing a lineup of beloved local singers at its annual benefit concert, which will take place at Annette Strauss Square on Sunday, November 6.

The Texas Gentlemen, already a popular act in Texas, gained national notoriety in March 2015 after backing Leon Bridges at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin. Last June, they played with Paul Cauthen at the Belmont Hotel, and in July, they were backing Kris Kristofferson at the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island.

Tinker, a founding member of the Polyphonic Spree, also enjoyed national attention this past year after a song he co-wrote was performed by The Lumineers and featured in the Disney movie Pete’s Dragon. This is Tinker’s third time performing at Cancer Jam, but his first time performing at the show with his new retro-soul trio.

The main stage vocalist lineup includes Eric Pulido of Midlake and Banquet, Brent Best of Slobberbone and The Drams, Matt Hillyer of 1100 Springs, Paco Estrada of South FM, Kirk Thurmond and Larry Gee. A second stage will feature Austin’s Brandon Callies & the American Revival, and Fort Worth artists, Cut Throat Finches and Un Chien.

Tickets are available for purchase at www.cancerjamtx.org. Individual ticket prices range from $20 for lawn seats to $70 for VIP tickets. There are a limited number of VIP tickets available.

Cancer Jam will benefit on-air personality Michael “Mondo Mike” Vazquez, 49, who was diagnosed with Follicular Dendritic Cell Sarcoma last April. The Edge’s Atom Smasher Morning Show will host the event.
