ABOUT ANDREW TINKER

Andrew Tinker’s artistry lies in the ever changing texture of his music. Sometimes raw, sometimes refined, his songs reflect a broad range of pop genres unified by standout vocals and exceptional musicianship.  Known throughout North Texas for his live performances as a pianist and singer, he is also an enthusiastic guitarist and songwriter, as showcased by his recordings.

In spring 2009, Tinker independently released his first full length album, It Takes the WorldA native Texan, the artist has performed and recorded with various local ensembles, and was a founding member of the Polyphonic Spree in 2000. He recorded french horn on the band’s first two albums, earning a UK silver record for The Beginning Stages of the Polyphonic Spree. He left the group in 2003 to attend the University of North Texas and eventually pursue a solo career.

After lineup changes in 2012, Tinker took a short hiatus from the live stage; burrowing into his private Big Acre Sound studio in Copper Canyon, TX.  In August 2013 the solo artist was prominently featured on the full length feature film soundtrack for Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (Lakeshore Records) and his newest full length album is due late-2013 on Hand Drawn Records.
