HAND DRAWN RECORDS TAKES THE VINYL REVOLUTION TO AUSTIN DURING MUSIC WEEK
(DALLAS, TEXAS — source: CultureHype) — Hand Drawn Records heads to Austin, Texas once again during South-By’s annual festivities with more unofficial panels and showcases. After opening its state-of-the-art vinyl pressing plant over a year ago, the Dallas-based, artist-centric label is taking its talent to ATX during the annual South by Southwest festival in March for an unofficial panel discussion on the current state of independent music services with varied business partners; Smith Music Group, Welcome to 1979 Studios, Culture-Hype, Blue Lark Entertainment, Texas Music Pickers. The label will also host two unofficial live music showcases featuring both label artists and friends of HDR.
Some of the metroplex’s must-see musicians call Hand Drawn Records home, but the label’s innovative influence extends far beyond the DFW metroplex.
The label’s manufacturing arm, Hand Drawn Pressing, has answered the needs of the “vinyl revolution” with unmatched speed: The plant’s WarmTone machines produce records three times as fast as vintage automated record presses, which has pressed hundreds of thousands of records this past year. Hand Drawn Records is at the center of the vinyl business boom, which means their events are a must-see for music fans and aficionados craving insight into the intricacies of vinyl pressing and music labels in 2018 and beyond.
