Events, New Artists, Compilations…Oh My!

The end of the year and the world is still here, so let’s look-back at the year that was 2012!

Undoubtedly, Secret Ghost Champion had the busiest year; playing so many live dates that we honestly lost count.  Exit 380 won “Comeback Band of the Year” at the 13th Annual Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards, and continued to ply their live trade at the area’s best venues.  W.A. Fite completed his second full length record in as many years, and Inside Light’s Kelly Panter put that project on hold to launch his newest rock venture Always the Alibi.

We also linked up with new artists from all over the globe, releasing our first two limited edition compilation albums.  Volume 1 took a family tree approach to HDR’s primary artists and their side, or produced projects.  Our second compilation was opened up to submissions from across the globe, and we linked up with some exciting acts from Texas, Minnesota, and the United Kingdom!

In the spirit of compiling, we put together a few of our favorite snapshots from the last year for your viewing pleasure.

 Secret Ghost Champion

A non-stop live performance schedule, and steady studio work marked the band into several Top Must-See Artists end of the year lists.  New full length album Electric Neck and The Mercy Skull is slated for release by the band in 2013!

 W.A Fite

Tracking, mixing, and more tracking is how this solo artist spent the year in his home studio creating his sophomore effort Builds.with.Age.  He even brought in a few family members to help out with the process!

Hand Drawn Records. A Compilation. Volume 1.

Our first compilation album married our signed artists, their side projects, and a few close friends together into one big semi-functional family.  Fou, Inside Light, and Loretti pictured below were among the 11 featured artists.

The second compilation opened up submissions, receiving an overwhelming amount of fantastic tracks, which was soon pared down to 14 songs.  The record features artists from all spectrum of the grid, and the early feedback has been downright fantastic.
