THE AUSTIN CHRONICLE—"The band is as much influenced by Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus as they are the Beach Boys and Nick Cave. The wide variety of influences makes Brandon Callies Band appealing to many audiences."
THE MUSIC ENTHUSIAST— "they were very cohesive this night, and from the energetic live show to Brandons’ killer voice (which sounded in rare form, even for him), they were no doubt a force to be reckoned with."
ON TOUR MONTHLY— "...“Euphoria to the ears, the Brandon Callies Band release their latest EP “Life Is Still Good”. Spellbinding riffs and indelible lyrics will captivate you from the beginning."
Brandon Callies and the American Revival (formerly, Brandon Callies Band) was formed in Greenville, Texas in 2007 by the band's singer/songwriter, Brandon Callies and in that same year, recorded their first EP "Unique Normalities". After a few years of performing in Dallas, Brandon relocated the band to Austin, Texas where they recorded their debut full length album "The Gunner" in 2011. The album was met with good reviews, leading to high profile, regional shows and in 2013, the band was signed to Hand Drawn Records, where they released "Life Is Still Good."
2015 marked both the most productive and successful year for Brandon Callies, releasing a full length live and rarities album, “(Live) Be Quiet, We’re Recording”, a full length murder ballads concept album, “There’s a Killer Down in Texas,” and on March 26, 2015, the City of Austin’s mayor, Steve Adler, signed a proclamation, officially declaring it the annual celebration of “Brandon Callies Day.”
In 2016, the band toured extensively throughout the US with the label's traveling "Hand-Picked Tour" collaborations and released new their newest EP, "The 405 Project" in early-Fall with a follow up LP scheduled for Spring 2017.
